About the Role
A millwright is a skilled tradesperson who uses heavy-duty equipment and blueprints to assemble, disassemble, move, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and industrial machinery. As a millwright, you complete comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects in various industrial environments, such as construction sites, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and factories. You can work in a variety of industries, including construction, food processing, power, recycling, aggregate and mining, and manufacturing.
Requirements
Journeyman Millwright preferred, Apprentices, and those with equivalent to journeyman millwright experience will be considered
3+ years maintenance experience is preferred
Equipment Operator’s Certification to operate the forklift and pallet jack, Scissor lift, Zoom boom, JLG or the ability to obtain certifications
Experience following preventative maintenance programs and documenting work as it is completed. Experience using computer based preventative maintenance systems an asset
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) and excellent mathematical skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and skilled at troubleshooting machinery is a must
Able to provide clear, concise general instructions for team effectiveness
Must be able to communicate and work well with others, demonstrating politeness, respect, and courtesy in communication and daily interactions
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision
Must be able to follow set procedures, efficiently, effectively and prioritize work
Excellent problem-solving skills (observing the problem, deciding the cause, and then working out the most effective way to resolve it)
Able to react quickly to problems as they arise to minimize production down time
Able to independently bring forth innovative ideas and suggestions to improve production and/or the work environment
Possesses good hand-eye coordination and dexterity needed when using tools to make adjustments to the machine and when handling product and equipment
Able to get into different physical positions as required to perform equipment maintenance
Able to lift 50 lbs
